Tour Italy Father Pio, Pietralcina, San Giovanni Rotondo
Duration: 4 nights/ 5 days
1st day: Rome
Meeting with the tour leader and transfer to Villa Domus (or to a hotel), a wonderful ex Patrician Roman Villa, built on the basement of a Roman arena, which became a famous monastery in the XIII century. Check-in, dinner and overnight in the hotel.
2nd day: Pietrelcina (Father Pio’s birth place) - San Giovanni Rotondo
Meeting of the participants at 6 a.m. and departure by bus to Pietrelcina, Father Pio’s birth place. Visit of Father Pio’s birth house and his Parrish. Lunch at restaurant. Transfer to San Giovanni Rotondo in the afternoon. In the evening, accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight.
3rd day: San Giovnni Rotondo – Excursion to Monte Sant’angelo
Full board at the hotel. In the morning, excursion to Monte Sant’Angelo, from where there is a great view to Gargano; visit of San Michele Arcangelo Sanctuary, of the Cave and shopping in the medieval village. In the afternoon, visit of Father Pio’s places: Sanctuary of Saint Mary of the Grace, Father Pio’s grave, Father Pio’s cell, the Via Crucis and visit of the yard of the new sanctuary designed by Renzo Piano. Opportunity to reserve a Holy Missal in the crept.
4th day: San Giovanni Rotondo – Lanciano - Rome
After breakfast, departure to Gargano, Mattinata, Pugno Chiuso; lunch in Vieste and visit of the town. Return to Rome. In the evening, accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight.
5th day: Rome
Breakfast Transfer to Rome airport.
