Accomodation in Italy
Accommodation in Italy ranges from basic accommodation
like Youth Hostels and Campsites to Hotels and Luxurious
Villas and Apartments. It's wise to book ahead whenever
possible as during certain dates of the year (May -
September) and at weekends availability of accommodation
in many of the Italian cities can be difficult to find.
The months of July & August are when most Italians take
their annual holiday the seaside resorts are
particularly full during these periods.
In the
Spring & Fall months many Italians & Europeans descend
in great numbers upon the cities of Art; Florence, Rome
& Venice. And with the increased number of low-cost
flights from other European countries many people choose
short-break vacations over Spring and weekends.
Typically you'll find budget prices hotels and
accommodation in and around railway stations and
airports that often have last minute availability.
Over
the years, Traveling throughout Italy we have got to
know various accommodation throughout the Italian
peninsula. We particularly like small hotels with their
own personal character, and usually very accommodating
hosts. Often the big chain hotels have the same
decor and feel whether your staying in Los Angeles or
Rome. Quite often your accommodation can make your
vacation.
One of
the growing sectors of Accommodation in Italy are
Apartments & Villas. If you are planning to stay for
three or more nights in one particular location, hiring
an apartment might be a good solution. They are often
cheaper than hotels, and if you are Traveling in a
group they become even more economical. With apartments
you'll also have cooking facilities. Not having
to take all your meals in restaurants or cafe's. Despite
the increase in the cost of living, you'll be pleasantly
surprised to find that the prices in local markets and
supermarkets are still relatively cheap.
